Another worker-activist gets Jail Time!

Against Wage-Labour

Wed, 03 Oct 2007 16:24:00

Say NO to the bourgeois government of Iran who has just sentenced worker-activist Mohsen Hakimi to 2 years in jail for his attempt to celebrate Mayday 2004 in Saqez, Iran.

The celebration never even happened as the police and security forces occupied the location and prevented the event from even occurring.  Global capitalism is again suppressing the true nature of workers to organize and fight back against a system that keeps us at the bottom.  Capitalist survival depends on its laws and security to torture, jail, and kill any individual or group who do not fit into its profiteering agenda.  We must not be silent with this as this is something else that capitalism relies on – the individualism and divisions between workers.  We MUST recognize our connection to all workers no matter their country of origin, activity or distinct struggle because a struggle for one worker is a struggle for all workers.

In solidarity with Mohsen and all these workers, we call for all workers to raise our voices and our labour power against the bourgeoisie in Iran.
