We condemn the arrest of worker-activists, Iran-Tehran

Coordinating Committee to Form Workers Organization (West Region of Iran)

Mon, 17 Dec 2007 14:58:00

Workers and conscious people, Ongoing arrests of Worker-activists continue. On December 14th, Mohsen Hakimi, a member of the Coordinating Committee to Form Workers Organization, along with other worker-activists was arrested in Chitkar Park and sent to jail for a senseless pretext.

There has been a new wave of arrests in the last few moths as we are witnessing the arrests of Mahmod Salehi, Mansour Osanloo, Ebrahim Madadi,  Bakhtyar Rahimi, Reza Dehghan, Ali Nejati, Ferydon Nikofar, Ramezan Alipour, Jalileh Ahmadi, Hydari Meher, and other Hafetabeh sugar cane workers, as well as in recent weeks many student activists were arrested and others were issued warnings of arrests.

Workers

This oppressive process and the creation of fear and horror is only an indication of the radical movements of which the head of these movements is a worker movement - which is based on its own power in a practical realm and is entering a particular phase of its own demands.   Also, the students are initiating a motto, 'Student and workers unite, unite", it shows that a new chapter of class connection is spreading in the society of Iran.   That is why the bourgeoisie is trying to block this incoming process.   Without a doubt, the arresting of these activists will not force any withdrawal on the class impetus of workers.   We as members of the Coordinating Committee to Form Workers Organization in the West region of Iran condemn these arrests and at the same time also, we call upon all workers and conscious people to resist against the disfranchisement and ask for the unconditional release of these friends.
